Reckhorn Subwoofer Amplifier : This is what we wanted all along. Mounted outside for better cooling and accessibility. There are many cheap plate amps with inflated specs. This is not one of them. What parts make good subwoofer amp? Output devices must be capable of current delivery without distortion or sag. The Reckhorn uses 4 x Toshiba devices, 6 x 10000uf caps for on-demand power AND a huge torroid power transformer.

Taming the bass in any room is a story of peaks and valleys. Get the important 60hz region right but 40hz has a 15db valley then comes charging back +10db at 30hz. And look, there's a 10db hump at 70hz! No problem with the Reckhorn. That valley? Just adjust the boost and waltz that lift anywhere between 20 and 80hz. The peak? Dial in the EQ function to cut it down to size. Boom? Again, adjust the subsonic setting to whip unruly bass into shape. And, 24db roll-off to get out of the way fast.
